The disease known as, "Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)" has caused a globally challenging and dire pandemic (COVID-19). This virus, which is highly contagious, has caused the world's health infrastructure and economy to crumble. The prevalence and mortality rates of SARS-CoV-2 vary on a daily basis. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), as of December 25, 2020, COVID-19 has spread to 216 countries, affecting 80,161,578.00 people and causing 1,756,379.00 (2.19%) deaths.
Global efforts are aimed at developing safe and effective vaccines for the prevention of COVID-19. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people faced major health problems globally, as well as experiencing anxiety and stress as a result of quarantine. The vaccine has thus become an important tool in combating the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, given the lack of specific treatment and vaccine for this disease and the rate at which the virus spreads.
With the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 genome in early 2020, efforts to develop a vaccine have been accelerated. Vaccines have been developed to stop the rise in the number of SARS-CoV-2 cases, benefitting humanity and our future.
